Do you remove knockdown ceilings in Sunset Ridge?

Yes — Sunset Ridge is part of our regular service area and we are usually booked within the week. We also cover Cochrane, Bow Ridge, Fireside and every Calgary quadrant.

Is knockdown ceiling removal messy?

That reputation comes from careless crews; our Sunset Ridge process masks, protects and controls dust throughout. We leave your Sunset Ridge home clean.

Can you make the ceiling completely flat?

Yes — texture off, then your Sunset Ridge ceiling gets skimmed to Level 4 or Level 5, paint-ready. If a new texture suits your Sunset Ridge home better, we apply that instead.

Can you fix cracks while the texture is off in my Sunset Ridge home?

Yes — removal exposes the Sunset Ridge board, we repair cracks, pops and staining, then skim — clean and sound underneath.

Do you stand behind your knockdown removal in Sunset Ridge?

Yes. We walk every Sunset Ridge ceiling with you under raking light before we pack up, and if something is not right we come back and make it right.

Knockdown ceiling removal in Sunset Ridge for a clean modern ceiling

A textured splatter ceiling makes a Sunset Ridge room feel old while its ridges gather dust and cobwebs. In Sunset Ridge we remove dated knockdown texture and refinish the ceiling — either skimmed dead-flat to a smooth modern look or re-textured cleanly. Sunset Ridge is a growing newer Cochrane west-side community where settling cracks and finishing are common, so the knockdown work here is usually refresh and resurfacing before a repaint. We cover Sunset Ridge and all of Cochrane, 7 days a week.

What affects the cost of knockdown ceiling removal in Sunset Ridge?

Area, finish and condition

The cost in Sunset Ridge depends on the ceiling area, the finish you want (a dead-flat Level 5 takes more skim work than a re-texture), and the condition underneath — cracks or stains found once the texture is off add a little time. We assess on site and price it before we start.

Skim flat vs re-texture in Sunset Ridge

Most homeowners here go flat for a modern look, but we also re-texture cleanly if you prefer. We tell you what each option involves so you can choose for your Sunset Ridge ceiling. Sunset Ridge spans a range of build eras, so what is behind the wall differs street to street.

Our Sunset Ridge knockdown removal process, step by step

Mask, protect and scrape

Knockdown removal in Sunset Ridge is messy if it is done wrong, so we mask walls, mask off the room and protect floors first, then scrape the texture cleanly back to the board.

Skim, sand and finish

With the texture off, we repair any cracks or stains, then skim the ceiling flat in coats with full drying time, sand and check under raking light — or apply a clean new texture if that is what you chose. Your Sunset Ridge ceiling is ready for primer and the room is cleaned before we go. In Sunset Ridge we see everything from original finishes to recent renovations on the same block.

Skim flat or re-texture? What suits your Sunset Ridge ceiling

Flat, modern ceilings

A dead-flat ceiling is the current look and the one most Sunset Ridge homeowners choose when they remove knockdown — it makes a room feel larger and cleaner.

A fresh, consistent texture

If you prefer texture, we can apply a clean knockdown or a lighter finish that is even across the whole ceiling, rather than the dated, heavy splatter that is there now. Both come up here. Housing in Sunset Ridge is mixed, which is why we look before we quote rather than after.

Common knockdown removal situations in Sunset Ridge

In Sunset Ridge, sunset Ridge is a residential neighbourhood in Cochrane. Build years vary across the neighbourhood, so rather than assume what is behind the wall we confirm it on site — the finish, the texture and how the existing surface has aged all change how the repair is approached. Assessed on site, priced up front, and finished properly — every time.
