Knockdown ceiling removal in West Pointe for a clean modern ceiling

Knockdown and splatter ceilings date a West Pointe room and catch dust and cobwebs in every ridge. In West Pointe we remove dated knockdown texture and refinish the ceiling — either skimmed dead-flat to a smooth modern look or re-textured cleanly. West Pointe is a growing Cochrane community where settling cracks and finishing work are common, so the knockdown work here is usually refresh and resurfacing before a repaint. We cover West Pointe and all of Cochrane, 7 days a week.

What affects the cost of knockdown ceiling removal in West Pointe?

Area, finish and condition

The cost in West Pointe depends on the ceiling area, the finish you want (a dead-flat Level 5 takes more skim work than a re-texture), and the condition underneath — cracks or stains found once the texture is off add a little time. We assess on site and price it before we start.

Skim flat vs re-texture in West Pointe

Most homeowners here go flat for a modern look, but we also re-texture cleanly if you prefer. We tell you what each option involves so you can choose for your West Pointe ceiling.

Our West Pointe knockdown removal process, step by step

Mask, protect and scrape

Knockdown removal in West Pointe is messy if it is done wrong, so we mask walls, mask off the room and protect floors first, then scrape the texture cleanly back to the board.

Skim, sand and finish

With the texture off, we repair any cracks or stains, then skim the ceiling flat in coats with full drying time, sand and check under raking light — or apply a clean new texture if that is what you chose. The West Pointe ceiling leaves primed-ready and the room leaves clean. West Pointe spans a range of build eras, so what is behind the wall differs street to street.

Skim flat or re-texture? What suits your West Pointe ceiling

Flat, modern ceilings

A dead-flat ceiling is the current look and the one most West Pointe homeowners choose when they remove knockdown — it makes a room feel larger and cleaner.

A fresh, consistent texture

If you prefer texture, we can apply a clean knockdown or a lighter finish that is even across the whole ceiling, rather than the dated, heavy splatter that is there now. Both come up here. West Pointe spans a range of build eras, so what is behind the wall differs street to street.
