Do you remove knockdown ceilings in Hillcrest?

Yes — Hillcrest is part of our regular service area and we are usually booked within the week. We also cover Bayside, Kings Heights, Williamstown and every Calgary quadrant.

Is knockdown ceiling removal messy?

Done carelessly it is — which is why every Hillcrest room gets masked, protected and dust-controlled. We leave your Hillcrest home clean.

Can you make the ceiling completely flat?

Yes — after removing the texture in Hillcrest we skim to a flat Level 4 or Level 5, ready for paint. Or we apply a clean new texture on your Hillcrest ceiling if you prefer.

Can you fix cracks while the texture is off in my Hillcrest home?

Yes — with the knockdown off in Hillcrest, cracks, nail pops and stains are repaired before the skim, so the finished ceiling is clean and sound.

Do you stand behind your knockdown removal in Hillcrest?

Yes. We walk every Hillcrest ceiling with you under raking light before we pack up, and if something is not right we come back and make it right.

We had pot lights added in Hillcrest and now there are texture patches around each one -- can you blend those in?

Yes. We match your existing ceiling texture around each pot-light cutout so the patches disappear into the rest of the Hillcrest ceiling instead of showing as visible rings.

Knockdown ceiling removal in Hillcrest for a clean modern ceiling

Knockdown and splatter ceilings date a Hillcrest room and catch dust and cobwebs in every ridge. In Hillcrest we remove dated knockdown texture and refinish the ceiling — either skimmed dead-flat to a smooth modern look or re-textured cleanly. Hillcrest is an established Airdrie community where reno, repair and ceiling drywall are common, so the knockdown work here is usually refresh and resurfacing before a repaint. We cover Hillcrest and all of Airdrie, 7 days a week.

What affects the cost of knockdown ceiling removal in Hillcrest?

Area, finish and condition

The cost in Hillcrest depends on the ceiling area, the finish you want (a dead-flat Level 5 takes more skim work than a re-texture), and the condition underneath — cracks or stains found once the texture is off add a little time. We assess on site and price it before we start.

Skim flat vs re-texture in Hillcrest

Most homeowners here go flat for a modern look, but we also re-texture cleanly if you prefer. We tell you what each option involves so you can choose for your Hillcrest ceiling.

Our Hillcrest knockdown removal process, step by step

Mask, protect and scrape

Knockdown removal in Hillcrest is messy if it is done wrong, so we mask walls, mask off the room and protect floors first, then scrape the texture cleanly back to the board.

Skim, sand and finish

With the texture off, we repair any cracks or stains, then skim the ceiling flat in coats with full drying time, sand and check under raking light — or apply a clean new texture if that is what you chose. The Hillcrest ceiling leaves primed-ready and the room leaves clean. Housing in Hillcrest is mixed, which is why we look before we quote rather than after.

Skim flat or re-texture? What suits your Hillcrest ceiling

Flat, modern ceilings

A dead-flat ceiling is the current look and the one most Hillcrest homeowners choose when they remove knockdown — it makes a room feel larger and cleaner.

A fresh, consistent texture

If you prefer texture, we can apply a clean knockdown or a lighter finish that is even across the whole ceiling, rather than the dated, heavy splatter that is there now. Both come up here. In Hillcrest we see everything from original finishes to recent renovations on the same block.

Common knockdown removal situations in Hillcrest

Hillcrest's homes bring us a steady mix of drywall repair -- cracks reopening after cold snaps, nail pops, and holes from moving furniture -- along with ceiling texture matching after pot-light installs and other small renovation work. Same trusted team, same process on every job — on-site quote, fixed price, no surprises.

Why Hillcrest homeowners trust Emplastrum for knockdown removal

A clean flat finish, finished to the light

The skim after the scrape is where a ceiling is made or ruined, and finishing is our specialty — a flat ceiling in Hillcrest is finished to the raking light your paint will see.
