Do you remove knockdown ceilings in Wildflower?

Yes — Wildflower is part of our regular service area and we are usually booked within the week. We also cover Bayside, Kings Heights, Williamstown and every Calgary quadrant.

Is knockdown ceiling removal messy?

Only when done wrong — in Wildflower we mask the room, protect everything and keep the dust contained. We leave your Wildflower home clean.

Can you make the ceiling completely flat?

Yes — we take Wildflower ceilings to a flat Level 4 or Level 5 once the texture is off, ready for paint. A fresh, even texture is also an option for Wildflower ceilings.

Can you fix cracks while the texture is off in my Wildflower home?

Yes — the exposed Wildflower ceiling gets its cracks, nail pops and stains repaired before skimming, so the finish is clean and solid.

Do you stand behind your knockdown removal in Wildflower?

Yes. We walk every Wildflower ceiling with you under raking light before we pack up, and if something is not right we come back and make it right.

Can you match the existing texture after a repair in Wildflower?

Yes — texture matching is core to what we do. We recreate the surrounding stipple, knockdown or hand-texture so a patch blends into the original wall or ceiling seamlessly.

Knockdown ceiling removal in Wildflower for a clean modern ceiling

Nothing dates a Wildflower room like splatter or knockdown texture — and every ridge traps dust and cobwebs. In Wildflower we remove dated knockdown texture and refinish the ceiling — either skimmed dead-flat to a smooth modern look or re-textured cleanly. Wildflower is a newer Airdrie community where settling cracks, nail pops and basement finishing are common, so the knockdown work here is usually refresh and resurfacing before a repaint. We cover Wildflower and all of Airdrie, 7 days a week.

What affects the cost of knockdown ceiling removal in Wildflower?

Area, finish and condition

The cost in Wildflower depends on the ceiling area, the finish you want (a dead-flat Level 5 takes more skim work than a re-texture), and the condition underneath — cracks or stains found once the texture is off add a little time. We assess on site and price it before we start.

Skim flat vs re-texture in Wildflower

Most homeowners here go flat for a modern look, but we also re-texture cleanly if you prefer. We tell you what each option involves so you can choose for your Wildflower ceiling. Wildflower spans a range of build eras, so what is behind the wall differs street to street.

Our Wildflower knockdown removal process, step by step

Mask, protect and scrape

Knockdown removal in Wildflower is messy if it is done wrong, so we mask walls, mask off the room and protect floors first, then scrape the texture cleanly back to the board.

Skim, sand and finish

With the texture off, we repair any cracks or stains, then skim the ceiling flat in coats with full drying time, sand and check under raking light — or apply a clean new texture if that is what you chose. We leave Wildflower homes with a primer-ready ceiling and a spotless room.

Skim flat or re-texture? What suits your Wildflower ceiling

Flat, modern ceilings

A dead-flat ceiling is the current look and the one most Wildflower homeowners choose when they remove knockdown — it makes a room feel larger and cleaner.

A fresh, consistent texture

If you prefer texture, we can apply a clean knockdown or a lighter finish that is even across the whole ceiling, rather than the dated, heavy splatter that is there now. Both come up here. Housing in Wildflower is mixed, which is why we look before we quote rather than after.
